WeConnect Worldwide, LLC was founded in December 2021 by Roberta Abdanur and Anna Barbosa. Abdanur specializes in humanitarian strategies in addition to consultation and Barbosa is a human connection and empowerment specialist.
Abdanur and Barbosa met in 2018 in Beirut, Lebanon, where they collaborated for the implementation of humanitarian empowerment programs that aimed to empower youth with disabilities, including Palestinian and Syrian refugees.
Since then, Abdanur and Barbosa continued their collaboration to advance and promote the inclusion of individuals with disabilities. In 2021, they decided to use their accumulated knowledge in international affairs and humanitarian affairs to create specialized trainings. The purpose for these trainings are to promote human connection as the foundation for sustainable diversity and inclusion. Together, they founded WeConnect Worldwide, LLC, the first specialized consulting company on Human Connection foundations.
Committed and proactive professional, proven relevant academic performance, field experiences and specialized knowledge of humanitarian affairs, international law, international conflicts and cooperation, humanitarian development and public-private partnerships in various cultural and political environments of Latin America, Sub-Saharan Africa, Southern Asia, Europe and the Middle East.
Recently in Geneva, Roberta was GPP in Strategic Communication at the United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research. In partnership with artist Kobra, IKMR and Aldeia Nissi, Roberta idealized the project for the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Roberta has an extensive academic background of International Relations at Fundação Armando Álvares Penteado (FAAP) in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Communications at the Istituto Europeo di Design (IED) in Milan, Italy, Humanitarian Emergencies and International Cooperation at the Institute for International Political Studies (ISPI) in Milan and International Conflicts and Cooperation at Harvard University (Extension School) in Cambridge, USA.
After more than a decade of international programming leading the social and educational inclusion of people from multiple groups, nationalities, socio-economic and linguistic backgrounds and livelihoods, Anna Barbosa has developed a series of Human Connection specialized trainings that accelerate the transformation of mindsets towards value-based human-centric interpersonal relationships. These specialized trainings guide participants in their own self-empowerment path and support them in building the human connection foundations needed to sustain authentic inclusive practices in their personal and professional lives.
Anna's career as an international advocate for the empowerment and inclusion of individuals from minority groups has been shaped by her experience as a humanitarian and curriculum developer and specialized TOT in countries such USA, Lebanon, Brazil and the USA-Mexico border.
Her hybrid and diverse professional journey, as a humanitarian leader in her role as Executive Director of the non-profit organization Empowerment Through Integration (ETI), as a trainer-of-trainers for NASA GLOBE project, as a qualitative researcher for projects funded by National Science Foundation, and as an international educator and researcher in both the USA and Latin America, among other roles, has uniquely positioned her as a well-experienced human connector and empowerment trainer.
